Working for Shelburne
In the last six years, I’ve accomplished a lot. Some of those accomplishments are:
- As Vice Chair of the House Natural Resources Committee, forging compromises that resulted in major improvements in Vermont’s energy policy, including encouraging more energy efficiency and renewable energy, and providing for a comprehensive state inspection of the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant
- Helping, as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee in 2003, to craft Act 68, which made some improvements in the way schools are funded
- As lead sponsor, moving through the legislative process in 2004 a workers compensation bill that made improvements in worker compensation laws
- Helping to forge the compromise that became law to improve Vermont’s telecommunications laws
- As lead sponsor, achieving enactment of two bills to provide a safer school environment for children with life threatening food allergies
Joyce is actively involved in Shelburne and is working to make our community a better place. Joyce is working to:
